Our 1966 Ford Falcon page
Here is the falcon after a bit of a cleanup. you can actually see the wimbelton white front and the primered rear. still a little bit of stubborn moss that didnt want to come off. oh well off to the body shop it goes for paint and a little bit of touch up. The plan is to get it back for May 2003. The little 302 will get my ported 1970 351W heads and my 282 .508 camshaft (comp 31-334-4). I will be installing my electric cooling fan and an rad overflow setup. I will also be upgrading to an duraspark electronic ignition. hopefully I will get some 3.55 gears for the 8 inch and maybe some highback buckets. I will also be installing some three point seatbelts front and back for safety. Other future upgrades will include a dual master power disk brake setup and some new interior pieces. I am thinking of  naming it "time machine". because of its retro look. My wife thinks I should call it "worst nightmare".

June 2003 Well the falcon has been sitting at "buddies" waiting for bodywork and paint since Christmas, he did manage to weld in the new rear framerails but that was about it due to other projects on the go. Because of this I am going to pick it up and do some of the mechanical upgrades that I want to do and reschedule for paint and body. I will be posting some new pictures of the work in progress soon

October 2002, this is what we saw at first glance. About one inch of moss all over this car, but the body was sound and it was allready modified in a good way. It had been sitting for about 3 years in a local storage lot in Abbotsford B.C Canada when we rescued her. She is an 1966 Ford Falcon Futura Sport Coupe. It origionally came with an 289 2 bbl (200hp). It now has an 302 with an unknown aftermarket camshaft and an edelbrock 289 torker maniford (the old funky twisted one). It came with an C-4 automatic which it still has, all be it with an unknow supposed aftermarket stall converter and a supposed stage 2 shift kit. It came with an 8" rearend with 2.80:1 gears, what it has for gears now I dont know. It was origionally white with an red interior. It will be 1998 ford mustang blue with an black interior (???) or black with purple and blue flames. For those that care it was origionally built in Oakvill Ontario on May 26, 1966 number 119716 off the line. It is one of 20,289 built. It has four wheel drum brakes, 2 1/4 dual exhaust, headers, bucket seats (mounted with wooden blocks do you believe), 70's style fender flares, 70's style diamond tuck interior, 70's style slotted rims 14x8 and 14x10 (gee do you think the car was rebuilt in the late 70's early 80's????)
July 2003. Well here it is back in my driveway ready to be worked on again. Drivetrain options have been changed a little in the last little while thought. I am going to install my 1970 351W engine and I was just given an 1984 AOD transmission from my stepdad. That should give me my dragstrip times with my highway cruising rpm. Due to the poor quality of my digital camera you could almost think that these pictures were cira 1970 something (except for the dodge minivan front fender.)
yee gads it's amazing what you will find in a car when you strip it to almost nothing. Cleaned up the car some more, got rid of the hokey 1970 something (full ratchet forward and backward) B&M shifter and redid the springs today. I will be uploading new pictures to the hotrodders site from now on so click on the symbol below to see them.

Here is a list of things still required:

-Door scuff plates
-Arm rests
-Futura fender badges
-Sport coupe badges
-Rear window chrome

-Chrome strips for dash(except glovebox)
-passenger hip chrome
-door panels??

October 2003, Well it has been a busy couple of months since I last posted. I have rewired most of the car. Anyone who does rewing of their car with speaker wire SHOULD BE SHOT. Converted it over electronic ignition, moved the battery to the rear, converted it to an carter 7 psi electric fuel pump with braided hose. mounted some new gauges in the dash, and lots of other little things. I have converted it over to the larger crossflow radiatoor out of the 1979 stang, which meant converting over to the drivers side exiting water pump. Got some good scores at the locat pick a part, they had an all you can carry for $50.00 sale. I got power disc brakes off a Granada, some nice bucket seats out of some impoert, 3 point seatbelts and lots more, goota love it!!!!!!!!!!
November 2003,  yaaahhh we have power disk brakes. out with the old in with the new. anyone want to buy some used drum brakes??
Just a couple of pics during the primer/guide coat process.
Thought this would be a good time to see what the stripes would look like. Will update with some new pics soon hopefully.
Hopefully this is what the finished product looks like. did a little playing on the computer.
